The Joy Bringers
Last updated: 19 October 2026
Welcome to The Joy Bringers!
These Terms & Conditions explain what we offer, what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.
For the purposes of this document, an “Experience” means either a “Retreat” (Reset, Restore or Rediscover) or an “Adventure” (Relive).
These Terms apply to our Experiences, website, digital products and physical products, as relevant.
For Experiences, your contract consists of these Terms, the agreed Experience description and your booking confirmation.

2. What We Offer
Our Experiences follow four phases of the Joy Philosophy:
Reset, Restore and Rediscover: Retreats combining accommodation, activities and personal-development workshops.
Relive: Adventures focused on enjoyment, exploration, connection and memorable experiences, without personal-development workshops.
We also offer, or plan to offer, digital products, courses, books, merchandise and clothing.
Our Experiences provide hospitality, recreation and, where relevant, general personal-development education.
We do not provide medical treatment, therapy, counselling, psychological or psychiatric services, or regulated financial or legal advice.
Our workshops and materials are not substitutes for professional advice or treatment.
3. Experience Inclusions & Exclusions
Your Experience includes the accommodation, meals, agreed transfers, excursions, workshops and activities described on its product page and booking confirmation.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the following are not included:
Flights and other transport to the agreed collection point.
Alcohol.
Travel, medical and cancellation insurance.
Passports, visas and related expenses.
Personal spending and optional purchases.
Transport or activities outside the agreed itinerary.
Your Experience description identifies the specific services included in your booking.
4. Bookings
Booking Requests
Submitting a booking request is free and does not automatically confirm your place.
We review booking requests before accepting them. We may decline requests for genuine legal, safety or operational reasons, provided our decisions are fair and non-discriminatory.
Booking Acceptance
Once we accept your request, we email you our payment instructions and any relevant booking information.
Your place is provisionally reserved while we await the required payment.
Booking Confirmation
Your booking is confirmed only after the required payment has been received and we have issued written confirmation.
Your confirmation will identify your Experience, dates, accommodation, agreed price, payment arrangements and organiser contact details.
The agreed Experience description and these Terms form part of your booking contract.
5. Payments
All Experience prices are quoted in euros (€).
The full agreed price, including mandatory charges, will be disclosed before booking confirmation.
Standard Payment Terms
| When You Book | Payment Required |
|---|---|
| More than 30 days before your Experience | €500 deposit within three calendar days of booking acceptance. Full remaining balance due 30 days before the Experience begins. |
| 30 days or less, but at least 14 days, before your Experience | Full Experience price within three calendar days of booking acceptance. |
| Less than 14 days before your Experience | New bookings are closed. |
The €500 deposit applies per reservation, including reservations for two guests sharing a room.
You may pay your outstanding balance early, in full or in smaller amounts, provided it is received by the deadline.
Payment Plans
Where available, payment plans allow the outstanding balance to be divided into scheduled instalments.
Standard deposit requirements still apply.
The instalment amounts and payment dates will be confirmed during the reservation process before any payment is taken.
The full balance must be received no later than 30 days before the Experience begins.
Missed Payments
Deposits not paid within the stated deadline will result in the reservation being cancelled and availability being released.
If another payment is overdue, we will contact you and explain the outstanding amount and next steps.
Confirmed bookings will not be automatically cancelled by our payment system.
Where non-payment constitutes a material breach, we may terminate the booking after reasonable notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
Any money retained will reflect our contractual rights, reasonable losses and the protections provided by consumer law.
Shared Room Discount
Where offered, two guests sharing an eligible room receive a 20% discount.
Eligibility, availability and final pricing will be confirmed before booking.
Receipts & Invoices
We issue receipts and invoices in accordance with Greek requirements.
6. Cancellation by You
If you need to cancel your Experience, please notify us in writing as soon as possible - email us on bookings@thejoybringers.life
Standard Cancellation Charges
| When You Cancel | Cost to You |
|---|---|
| More than 30 days before your Experience | €500 per reservation. All additional payments received are refunded. |
| 30 days or less before your Experience | 100% of the Experience price, provided the charge is appropriate and justifiable. |
| No-show | 100% of the Experience price, subject to your statutory rights. |
Why We Charge Cancellation Fees
Our Experiences involve significant advance preparation and financial commitments.
Meals are planned and prepared in advance, activities and suppliers are booked, and workshops are tailored to the group.
Many costs remain the same regardless of guest numbers, and replacing a guest at short notice is extremely unlikely.
Our cancellation charges reflect these commitments, expected savings and realistic resale opportunities.
You may request an explanation of the cancellation charge.
Cancellation Without a Charge
You may cancel a regulated package without a cancellation charge where qualifying unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances at or near the destination significantly affect the Experience or passenger transport to the destination.
Where this right applies, you will receive a full refund, including your deposit, within 14 days of termination.
Refunds
Where a refund is due following termination of a package-travel contract, we will pay it within 14 days and explain any deductions.
7. Guest Substitutions & Date Changes
Guest Substitutions
If you cannot attend, you may transfer your booking to another eligible person.
Please give us at least 14 days' notice wherever possible, allowing time to arrange meals, accommodation, activities and safety requirements.
The replacement guest must meet the legitimate conditions applicable to the Experience, provide essential safety information and agree to our Community Agreement.
We may decline a proposed replacement where objective participation or safety requirements genuinely cannot be met through reasonable arrangements.
We will not refuse an eligible replacement arbitrarily or unlawfully.
We do not charge an administrative substitution fee.
Where an unavoidable third-party cost arises directly from a transfer, we will explain it and charge only reasonable, evidenced amounts permitted by law.
Date Changes
You may request a different Experience date, subject to availability and our agreement.
We will explain any cancellation consequences or additional costs before proceeding.
8. Changes or Cancellation by The Joy Bringers
We may occasionally need to adjust schedules, activities, meals, excursions or suppliers.
We will make reasonable efforts to preserve the essential nature and quality of your Experience.
Significant Changes
If we must significantly change an essential part of your Experience before departure, we will explain the proposed changes and your options.
Depending on the circumstances, you may:
Accept the change.
Accept a suitable alternative Experience, where offered.
Cancel without a cancellation charge and receive a refund.
Where a change reduces the quality or value of your Experience, an appropriate price reduction may also apply.
Cancellation by Us
If we cancel your Experience before it begins, we will refund all payments received within 14 days.
We may offer an alternative date or voucher, but you are not required to accept either instead of a refund.
Additional compensation may be payable unless a recognised legal exception applies.
Cancellation Due to Missing Safety Information
Providing essential safety information is a material obligation of your booking.
If you fail to provide this information despite repeated requests and warnings, and we cannot reasonably establish that your participation can be safely accommodated, we may terminate your booking.
We will consider the safety and wellbeing of all guests and whether a practical solution is possible without compromising the Experience.
Where termination results from your material breach, The Joy Bringers reserves the right to recover its reasonable, demonstrable losses arising from that breach, including non-recoverable commitments and costs.
We cannot charge you twice for the same loss.
We will explain the cancellation decision, any amount retained and any refund due.
Further details of your safety-information obligations are provided in Section 11.
9. Unavoidable & Extraordinary Circumstances
Events beyond anyone's reasonable control can sometimes disrupt an Experience.
Examples include serious natural disasters, wildfires, public-health emergencies, government restrictions and major transport disruption.
Not every unexpected event qualifies. The circumstances must significantly affect the contracted Experience or relevant travel arrangements.
Before Your Experience
If qualifying circumstances prevent us from delivering the Experience, we may cancel and provide a full refund within 14 days.
Additional compensation may not be payable where the statutory exception applies.
If qualifying circumstances significantly affect your Experience or passenger transport to the destination, you may also be entitled to cancel without a charge and receive a full refund.
During Your Experience
If a significant contracted service cannot be provided, we will seek appropriate alternative arrangements.
If suitable alternatives cannot be provided, you may be entitled to a price reduction, termination, compensation or other remedies, depending on the circumstances.
Where included return transport becomes impossible because of qualifying circumstances, we may be required to cover necessary accommodation for up to three nights, or longer where specific passenger protections apply.
We will explain your options and provide appropriate assistance.
10. Travel, Arrival & Travel Documents
You are responsible for arranging transport to the agreed collection point unless your Experience expressly includes it.
We will confirm collection arrangements before your arrival.
Delayed Arrivals & Missed Collections
Please notify us promptly if your travel is delayed.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate delays, but cannot guarantee an indefinite wait where this would disrupt other guests, scheduled activities or safety.
If you arrive substantially later than the agreed collection time and we cannot reasonably continue waiting, you may need to arrange and pay for alternative transport.
We remain responsible where a missed collection results from our failure to provide the agreed service.
Passports, Visas & Health Entry Requirements
Passports & Visas: Greece is part of the Schengen Area. EU citizens can generally enter with a valid passport or national identity card. Other nationalities may require a passport and/or visa, depending on their citizenship and circumstances. Check the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the requirements relevant to you.
Visa Processing: Standard short-stay Schengen visa applications are generally decided within 15 calendar days, but individual cases can take up to 45 days. Appointment availability and additional checks can increase the overall time needed. Apply well in advance and consult the relevant Greek consulate for current processing information.
Health Entry Requirements: These are official medical or public-health conditions for entering Greece, such as vaccination certificates, testing or other health documentation. Check current Greek government entry requirements before travelling.
You are responsible for obtaining your travel documents and meeting entry requirements. The Joy Bringers does not control visa decisions or processing times.
11. Health, Safety & Participation
Your safety, wellbeing and the Experience of the wider group are important to us.
Mandatory Safety Information
To help us provide a safe and appropriately planned Experience, each guest must complete our mandatory safety questionnaire.
This requests relevant information about:
Allergies and dietary restrictions.
Mobility limitations and physical considerations affecting participation.
Health or safety matters we reasonably need to know.
Concerns that may affect participation in excursions or activities.
Personal or emotional considerations you wish us to take into account when planning workshops.
Emergency contact details.
We request this information immediately after booking confirmation and issue further reminders where it remains outstanding.
All mandatory safety information must be received no later than 14 days before your Experience begins.
This deadline is essential because meals are planned and prepared in advance, suppliers and activities are booked, and workshops are tailored to the needs of the group.
Failure to Provide Mandatory Information
Failure to provide the required information despite repeated requests and a final 24-hour warning may result in termination of your booking where we cannot reasonably establish that we can safely accommodate you without compromising the safety or Experience of other guests.
Where termination results from your material failure to meet this contractual obligation, The Joy Bringers reserves the right to recover its reasonable, demonstrable losses arising from that breach, including non-recoverable commitments and costs.
We will explain the cancellation decision, any amount retained and any refund due.
Late Disclosure of Requirements
Please tell us immediately if your circumstances change or you discover new safety requirements.
Because meals, workshops and activities are prepared in advance, we cannot guarantee that newly disclosed requirements can be accommodated at short notice.
Where safe participation cannot reasonably be arranged, we will explain the available options and any contractual consequences.
Participation & Safety
Participation in activities is voluntary.
Guests must follow reasonable safety instructions and promptly communicate concerns affecting safe participation.
We will take reasonable care in planning and delivering the Experience.
Privacy of Health Information
We request only information reasonably necessary for planning, safety and participation.
Health information is handled as sensitive personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and relevant data-protection requirements.
12. Accessibility & Inclusivity
We want everyone to feel welcome at The Joy Bringers.
Our Experiences take place primarily at a mountain property with stairs, sloping terrain and uneven outdoor surfaces. Some activities and excursions may also involve walking or uneven ground.
We pride ourselves on inclusivity and empathy and would love to work with you to understand your needs and explore reasonable adjustments.
Please contact us before booking so we can discuss what's possible and help you make an informed decision.
13. Activities, Suppliers & Our Responsibilities
Some included activities and services may be delivered by independent suppliers.
Where these services form part of your regulated package, The Joy Bringers remains responsible for their proper performance.
If a contracted service is not provided as agreed, please tell us promptly so we can try to resolve the problem.
Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to appropriate alternatives, correction, a price reduction or compensation.
Services you independently purchase outside your Experience are generally governed by your separate arrangements with those providers.
14. Assistance During Difficulties
If you experience difficulties during your Experience, please contact us.
We will provide appropriate assistance without undue delay.
This may include information about medical services, local authorities or consular assistance, and help with communications or alternative travel arrangements.
Where difficulties were caused intentionally by you or through your negligence, we may recover reasonable actual assistance costs where permitted.
For immediate emergencies, contact the relevant emergency services.
15. Guest Conduct & Community Agreement
We want The Joy Bringers community to be safe, welcoming, respectful and joyful.
Everyone participating in an Experience must follow our Community Agreement.
This includes respecting personal boundaries, privacy, safety instructions and other members of the community.
Harassment, intimidation, violence, discriminatory abuse, deliberate property damage and serious threats to safety are unacceptable.
We may intervene, restrict participation or require a guest to leave where serious misconduct makes this reasonably necessary.
Where a guest's serious misconduct results in termination of their participation, they may not be entitled to a refund.
Any amount retained will reflect the circumstances, our reasonable losses and the guest's consumer rights.
Our Ethics of Joy page explains the personal values we live by, which also guide how we operate The Joy Bringers.
16. Alcohol, Smoking & Illegal Substances
Alcohol is not included in the Experience price.
Guests who choose to consume alcohol must do so responsibly.
We may intervene where intoxication creates a safety risk or seriously disrupts others.
Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated areas.
Illegal substances are prohibited.
17. Property, Belongings & Outdoor Areas
Please treat our property, facilities and other guests' belongings with care.
Guests may be responsible for the reasonable cost of repairing damage they deliberately or negligently cause, excluding normal wear and tear.
We remain responsible for losses caused by our negligence or breach of legal duties.
Pools, gardens, outdoor spaces and recreational facilities must be used responsibly and in accordance with reasonable safety instructions.
18. Digital Products & Online Courses
We may offer downloadable tools, templates, books, courses, videos and other digital products.
Prices, product descriptions, access arrangements and restrictions will be provided before purchase.
Unless stated otherwise, digital materials are licensed for personal, non-commercial use.
You may not reproduce, distribute, resell or share protected content without permission.
Digital Withdrawal Rights
Consumers generally have a 14-day withdrawal right for eligible online purchases.
For digital content delivered immediately without a physical medium, the withdrawal right may be lost once delivery begins, but only where you have expressly consented to immediate delivery, acknowledged the loss of that right and received the required confirmation.
Digital services and courses may have different arrangements, which will be explained before purchase.
Faulty or non-conforming digital products remain subject to consumer remedies.
19. Physical Products, Merchandise & Clothing
We may sell books, merchandise, clothing and other physical products.
Product descriptions, prices and delivery arrangements will be provided before purchase.
Returns & Withdrawal
For most eligible online purchases of physical goods, including ordinary books, consumers have 14 days after delivery to withdraw without giving a reason.
You must notify us within that period and generally have a further 14 days to return the goods.
We will refund eligible payments, including standard delivery charges, within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice.
We may withhold the refund until we receive the returned goods or you provide evidence of having sent them back, whichever occurs first.
You may be responsible for a reduction in value caused by handling the goods beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
Return shipping costs are your responsibility only where we informed you of this before purchase.
Certain exceptions apply, including qualifying personalised products and certain sealed hygiene products once unsealed.
These exceptions do not remove your rights where goods are faulty or misdescribed.
20. Prices, Promotions & Intellectual Property
Prices are displayed in euros (€), with applicable taxes and mandatory charges disclosed before purchase.
Additional delivery or other charges will be identified where relevant.
Promotions and discounts may have clearly disclosed eligibility conditions.
The Joy Bringers branding, Joy Philosophy, original content, photographs, materials and digital resources are protected by intellectual-property law.
Purchasing an Experience or product does not transfer ownership of our intellectual property.
21. Photography, Privacy & Data Protection
We will request appropriate separate permission before using identifiable guest photographs, videos or testimonials for marketing where consent is required.
Guests must respect one another's privacy and obtain appropriate permission before publishing identifiable images or private information about others.
We handle personal information in accordance with the GDPR and our Privacy Policy.
Sensitive information, including health information, is collected and processed only where there is an appropriate legal basis and any additional required legal condition.
Marketing communications are handled separately from essential booking communications.
22. Liability & Insurance
We are responsible for providing our contracted services with reasonable care and in accordance with our legal obligations.
For regulated packages, this includes responsibility for included services delivered by suppliers.
We are not responsible for losses arising solely from independently arranged services outside our contract where we have no legal responsibility.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for personal injury caused by negligence or other legally protected claims.
Guest Insurance
We strongly recommend appropriate travel insurance covering cancellation, medical treatment, emergency assistance, repatriation, travel disruption and planned activities.
Insurance is not included unless expressly stated.
Package Insolvency Protection
For Experiences that qualify as regulated packages, The Joy Bringers must maintain the legally required insolvency protection covering qualifying advance payments and repatriation where required.
The protection provider's identity and contact details will be supplied in the required pre-booking information and booking documentation.
23. Complaints & Resolving Problems
We genuinely want you to have a wonderful Experience.
If something goes wrong, please tell us promptly so we have the opportunity to resolve it.
Email: Compliance@thejoybringers.life
We aim to acknowledge complaints within two business days and provide a substantive response as soon as reasonably possible, and no later than 60 days.
Where a contracted service has not been delivered properly, you may be entitled to correction, alternative arrangements, a price reduction or compensation.
You may also use available consumer complaints and dispute-resolution procedures.
24. Legal Information & Contact
These Terms are governed by Greek law.
This does not remove mandatory consumer protections that apply to you under relevant EU or national rules.
We may update these Terms as our business or legal requirements change. Changes will not retrospectively remove rights under an existing booking contract.
If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply where legally possible.
